The Mid South Delta Initiative is building new connections and reaching out to new people in more Delta communities. In this new phase, MSDI will focus on "lifting up" or embracing what is good about the Delta and supporting people who want to create fresh ideas about the future that will "lift up" the entire region as a place of opportunity and possibility! It's all about connecting culture with possibility.
To create change across the Delta, the initiative has the following goals:
Promote activities that have a regional focus, deepen the impact on people and future generations, and expand the positive momentum for change across the region
Support the values and culture of the region so that new programs and their activities reflect the region's commitment to family, faith, and community
Engage people and groups who are often missing from community change efforts, including people who are young, elderly, disabled, or low-income; people of all races; and businesspeople or elected officials (depending on the context)
Involve youth in every aspect of social change work and in development of policies that affect them
Support new approaches that challenge and change the thinking and habits of individuals, groups, organizations, institutions, and businesses regarding what is truly possible in the Delta.
This website will provide all of the information about this region-wide effort. To find out how to get involved, explore the navigation box in the top-right corner of this page.

Safe Delta communities in which the majority of the residents are engaged in the social, economic, and political life of their communities; are healthy and educated; and have incomes that allow them to adequately provide for their families and prepare for economic self-sufficiency and a positive future for their children.
